Hi, I’m Emmy Rocha, the founder of Emmy’s Brigadeiro. What started as a passion project in my home kitchen has grown into a thriving chocolate brigadeiro business in Hertfordshire, with the first UK shop dedicated exclusively to Brigadeiros - a Brazilian handcrafted delicacy that offers a luscious taste, hand-rolled into bite-sized balls of the finest chocolate bliss. Now, through Emmy’s Brigadeiro Business Academy, I help aspiring entrepreneurs learn how to start a culinary business from home.
I’m Hungarian and my love for Brigadeiros began in 2010 when I met my Brazilian husband. I was instantly captivated by this traditional chocolate treat, which is a staple at every Brazilian celebration. When I started making Brigadeiros for friends and family, I realised there was a growing demand in the UK for high-quality, handcrafted chocolates.
For over seven years, I ran my business from home whilst raising three children, juggling online orders, and perfecting my recipes. In 2024, I opened my first chocolate brigadeiro shop in Old Hatfield, a place rich in history and charm. Now, not only do we ship our Brigadeiros across the UK, but we also invite visitors to experience our handmade treats in person. Eventually, my Brigadeiros became a popular choice for events in Hertfordshire and London, from corporate gatherings to intimate celebrations.
