Here’s a little history…
Brigadeiros hold a special place in Brazilian culture and are often associated with celebrations and gatherings. Created in the 1940s in Brazil this sweet treat was named after Brigadier Eduardo Gomes, a highly regarded military officer.
Initially, brigadeiros were made with condensed milk, cocoa powder, butter, and chocolate sprinkles, but over time, the choice of flavours and toppings have been introduced to tantalise the tastebuds providing a wonderful choice of flavours including (but not limited!) to the original delicious milk chocolate, sumptuous strawberry and tropical coconut.
The traditional brigadeiro recipe may only require the few simple ingredients of sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, butter, and chocolate sprinkles for coating, however it is the love that is put into the preparation and cooking of these ingredients, that makes them so very special.
